SCHOOL TEACHER REPORTS TO:
Building Principal OBJECTIVE:
To provide comprehensive instructional services in the content area specified; to assist students of varying capabilities and aptitudes to allow them to maximize their educational experience; to read, understand and apply all school policies and procedures uniformly; to help students overcome problems that may impede learning; to work with parents and guardians when students require special assistance and one to one involvement.

Qualifications:
Masters degree preferred; bachelor's degree in the content area required.
Valid Florida Department of Education certification.
Previous experience as a teacher or substitute is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written) clearly with all stakeholders, including the Board, Administration, Parents, Students, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of the content area as assessed by administration including the principal and curriculum coordinator.
Working knowledge of computer software programs, including email systems, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of current school technology is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of educational systems, educational testing and measurement, and psychology of learning.
Demonstrated ability to control a classroom of students.
Ability to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
Maintain a valid Florida State Drivers License.
Essential Functions:
Provides instruction in the content area to students of varying ability and aptitude in compliance with school curriculum and Florida Department of Education academic standards; ensures understanding; assesses knowledge on a regular basis.
Implements curriculum as approved by the principal; develops lesson plans and has same available for substitutes on an as needed basis.
Implements educational programs to meet the needs of all students.
Develops a working knowledge of and regularly utilizes technology in presenting the school's curriculum; uses multi-media as necessary and available.
Maintains grade book as required, monitors and interprets student performance and protects confidentiality according to all regulations and guidelines (FERPA).
Initiates and processes referrals to appropriate school personnel for students who are struggling.
Schedules students and parents for conferences per established guidelines as needed.
Counsels students on individual needs and aids them in achieving objectives; identifies and counsels potential problems and 'at risk' students.
Confers with parents and participates in parent/ teacher conferences, evening parental informational meetings, open houses and whenever deemed necessary by administrators; serves as a resource for parents and parent groups.
Administers standardized tests.
Works to discover and develop special abilities of students; identifies special needs and aptitudes of students; works to resolve educational challenges.
Consults with administration, teachers, and other school personnel as needed and appropriate.
Develops a positive relationship with parents, students and the community at large.
Attends In-service training and participates as a presenter when appropriate.
Completes duties assigned by the principal during scheduled duty periods and as needed.
Discusses matters of student discipline with the principal as needed.
Meets assigned schedules and reports to work on times specified; remains for the scheduled period of time, length of established workday.
Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.

Teacher workdays as established by FBCA (190 day work year calendar).
Available on campus during the hours students are in attendance and per the required work hours (7:
30 am - 2:
30 pm) established by the FBCA Board.
Salary and benefits are also designated by the FBCA Board.
Pre-employment requires applicants to submit Florida Background Record Check including FBI fingerprint documents.
EVALUATION:
Evaluation will be completed annually by the Principal and in accordance with FBCA policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
