The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the back-end Kraft process - including safety, quality, production, costs, environmental control and employee relations.
Areas of responsibility include Power and Recovery, Caustic, Pulp Mill and the Woodyard.
Also has mill-wide responsibilities for prioritizing shift maintenance and responding to emergencies.
What you need to succeed:
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, or chemical engineering or equivalent industrial paper manufacturing experience.
10
years' experience in a Kraft Pulp and Paper Mill.
Solid knowledge of power, recovery, caustic, pulp mill and woodyard processes.

How you will impact WestRock:
Leads safety efforts on shift to prevent injuries, eliminate hazards, improve housekeeping and comply with all applicable regulations and mill policies Implements improvement initiatives, corrects unsafe conditions and responds to safety concerns to ensure a safe and healthy working environment Supervises approximately 20 operators on shift and manages employee performance and promotes teamwork by providing appropriate coaching and training to ensure reliable performance and compliance with environmental, safety and quality requirements Sets production rates and coordinates/directs grade changes to optimize profitability minimize downtime, and balance conditions in Utilities, Power, Liquor, and Machine areas Maintains quality and environmental parameters within prescribed limits, basing decisions on operating conditions and trends Ensures that required testing occurs on schedule and in an appropriate manner Completes daily report incorporating all operating and equipment changes that will be useful to other supervisors and shift personnel in the department Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies and WestRock's Standard of Ethics and Code of Corporate Conduct If this sounds great to you and you think you fit in, please submit your application.
