Summary:
Responsible for setting up and maintaining food production and quality control of all food items prepared in all areas of the kitchen.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsible for preparing all food items necessary for the assigned area.
Assigns in detail, specific duties to all employees under supervision for efficient operation of the kitchen.
Checks for proper storage and handling of products used including portion, presentation, and recipe controls.
Maintains cleanliness and professionalism of all kitchen areas including food and non-food working areas.
Reports any equipment repair/maintenance to appropriate supervisor or facility department.
Supervise team members in absence of Sous Chef, to include discipline and training and ensure proper scheduling and staffing.
Performs any other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
s Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; to write routine reports and correspondence; to speak effectively before small groups of customers or associates of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Qualifications:
Culinary or apprenticeship program; ServSafe Certified preferred within one year of acceptance of position.
Physical Demands:
s While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear; stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
